2008 - the year that's been

2008. It's been a good year, a great, fabolous, exciting yaer. Probably one of my favourite years so far.

I've visited new places I always wanted to go and I've come back to places I allready love. It's been a year where I've made a lot of new friends and had reunions with loved ones.

I've seen the fireworks in Sydney, danced my 21st away in a backpacker bar on Georgestreet, I've deliverd eggs in the southern highlands, I've been drinving to Melbourne for shopping, festivals, drinking & dancing, I've been stuck in the rain in KL, gone on a boat on the river in the oldest jungel in Malysia, I've seen tea plantations and I've been drinking buckets of malibu & pineapple on the beach, i've been snorkling and seen the reggae band on Koh Lipe, met an old schoolfriend, been sick and had a tattoo on Koh Lanta, I've lived for almost two months on Langkawi, spending the days on the beach, going for trips to waterfalls and islands and drinking beer and dancing and camping and... and then there was Sweden, and the best frinds and family in the world, I've worked at the same place I started working when I was fourteen, I've had one of the best summers of my life, thanks to the people around me. Then I've been shopping and drinking red wine in Paris, I've tried to get a job and apartment in Oslo, I've been back to Sweden, I've even planned a longterm stay in Sweden, just to give it up, pack my bags and go off to the UK, where I've gotten to know a lovely family, celebrated swedish and english christmas, started going to the gym, had my first car, gone shopping in London, Brighton and Chichester, and this is where I will begin the year 2009.
I've been busy, and now it's time to start thinking about next year, so much to see, so much to do...

MGMT - Time to Pretend

I'm still stuck on this song, however today I did find a video, not the original, but I actually like this one better anyway...

Smile for the camera

The lovely lady in black turned out to be Géraldine Saglio, assistant to Emmanuelle Alt on french Vogue.

Barbara heart Balmain (and I heart Barbara)

Barabara Martelo is a Stylist on Vogue in Spain (at least I think she is, I'm not a 100% sure though) and I reckon she's got great style. During fashion week in Paris she kept wearing her Balmain fringe boots to different outfits. If they were a part of my wardrobe, I'm pretty sure I would've done the same!(pitures from JAK&JIL)

Summer of 69

I did go for the leo outfit in the end. I think it was a good choise, I got compliments for it. Anyway, the party was nothing like thought it would be. It wasn't actually a party hosted by the person I was invited by, but by his brother, who celebrated his 17th birthday! And so, the people attanding the party was in that agegroup aswell, with the exeption of the older siblings and some of their friends. So we were divided in two groups, the "real" party (their evening had it's culmination around 8:30 I would say) and the "grown-ups". It was fun though, I had an excellent time, great fun people that I hope I will see a lot more of in the future!

The highlight of my night might have been when this song came on the karekoe(no, I didn't sing, two guys from the "real party crew" had the microphones, thank god)

Dreams of snow

All the Christmas decorations are up, two trees, an open fire place, Christmas songs. But there is still something missing. Snow! You know, I remember the last time I saw snow, it was a tuesday, 23rd of january, 2007. We were driving to Arlanda ariport, just about to start the trip of a lifetime. I remember thinking how beautiful it was, loads of snow and bright sunshine.Since it's 11 degrees in Bognor today I've sort of given up on a white Cristmas, instead I'm crossing my fingers for snow in Sweden in januari. And if that fails, at least I'm guaranteed some when we go skiing in february.

Scotty doesn't know

I think it's time to watch Eurotrip again, such a funny movie.

Kate Moss + Emmanuelle Alt = very cool!

Look what I found! Kate Moss styled by Emmanuelle Alt for French Vogue in April this year (I didn't exactly read fashaion mags back in april, I was to busy sipping beer on the beach in Malaysia) I love this, this is cool!

Do you remember the summer of 2001?!

Nostalgia.

All American Rejects - Change Your Mind

And looking at all those old photos from way back then reminded me about this song, I used to play it quite a lot while working at F&B.

Who would've thought.

I never watched "The X Files", so the only time I've seen David Duchovny's acting before is in "Sex and the City" where he played Carrie's old high school boyfriend (and well, obviously I've seen the teacup picture!)
Now, I see him as Hank, and I think I can officially say that I am addicted. To Californication, that is. Who would've thought.

Yummie

White chocolate and cranberry cookies. My new obsession. When you go to the gym six days a week you can treat youreslf every now and again, and these are worth all the sweat, belive me :)

Extraordinary

It's funny how sometimes you get reminded of the same experience from different sources independent from eachother in a short time.

Yesterday I logged on to Coach Surfing (pretty much for the first time since I became a member in february, great site though) and I read my own profile, and one of the things they ask you to describe is "One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done" and I wrote "I was in a boat going to Perenthian Island, Malaysia, and we left in the sunrise. The sea was purple, it was extraordinary!"

Then today I'm looking at some pictures on facebook and I come across this one, taken on that very boatride...
Extraordinary indeed!

Song of the day

I once won a bet concerning the lyrics of this song. I think the bet was more about honour than anything else, haha, this was a fair few years back now, but it's a good song though, I like it, still.

Breakfast At Tiffany's - Deep Blue Something

Bob Dylan - If You See Her, Say Hello

Music from Californication. Getting sucked into that show...

David Grey - This Years Love

Wish I had the album, I did buy it after all, oh well, they are still looking for the bags (I spoke to them two times this week) so soon, maybe...

Fly away with me

I absolutley love this picture. It makes me feel calm, thanks to the softnes of the colours, but the plane leaves me excited and curious, someone is on their way, going somewhere. It's the kind of picture I could hang over my bed and be happy to see first thing in the morning and last thing at night. (image from Jonas, click on it to enlarge)

Surf's up

Talking about surfing, if you haven't seen this movie, do, it's way funny, I'm in love with Chicken Joe!

Australia

Note to self: watch this movie while it's still in the cinemas (I think it's the kinda movie one should see on a big screen)

Crazy, really, but way fun!

Hahaha, I've just joined a website called "flirtbox" (I don't think I have to tell you what sort of website it is) not that I'm looking for someone to date, but because my social life is pretty much nonexsisting and I thought, well, it's time to do something about it. So I thought this could be fun, and it is, it's hilarious, probably because of the "lunar" flash-backs more than anything!

Love the Look!!

Californication

I just watched the first episode of Californication. Now I'm intrigued (mostly beacuse Hank reminds me of someone I know, and I want to see where it's all going)

Dear Santa, it's me again...

Soon I'm off to the gym for my spinnig class. I really really really want to get some new clothes for the gym. I wish my work out wardrobe was filled with clothes from Stella McCartney for Adidas. I absolutley love this stuff. Maybe next time I'm in London....

Tjejlängtan

5 weeks, then I get to see my gals. We always have so much fun together. I can't wait. In an attempt to put it Sofia's way, only in english, I've got girllonging (ah, the beauty of translation)Like this, only better ;)

Beautiful, vackert, canti!

Thursday tomorrow which means no schoolrun for me, so I can have a sleep in. So, I'll miss tomorrows sunrise, but I got a pretty good pic this morning, so I'll live on that one for another day ;)
Also on the schedule for tomorrow is a spinning class & swimming, and a lot of typing. But now it's natti natti sov gott.

Wednesday treat

A new episode's out, sweet, perfect ending to a good day.

Hinder - Lips Of An Angel

Love to hate, hate to love, you know, that sorta thing. The things one associate with certain songs, certain music.

(and then there were the squeaking floorboards, but that was just silly)

2008-12-09

Ólafur Arnalds - 3055

I found this song on Jonas blog. I absolutley love it, it's, magical. I think I need to get a hold of the album, "Eulogy For Evolution", yes, that will have to be a mission in a not to far off future.

Outfit

Feel a bit preppy today, like one of the kids with their school uniforms.
Jeans from Levi's, shirt from Sand, jumper from Redgreen, Converse & Bally bag.

Note to self

I'm just gonna put this music video here because I know that I want to listen to it tomorrow morning when I'm getting dressed, but I might forget that during the night, but this way I'll remember. I know, I'm clever, I'm smart, close to genius, you don't have to tell me, I know.

Got to love it.

How I learned to appreciate ballet (and Michael Jackson)

Every monday the girls do ballet after school, and today was the last time before christmas so we got to look while they were doing it. It looks like a lot of fun, and I just found out that they actually do adult classes.

I've been wanting to try it ever since I watched Center Stage years ago. So maybe this spring. However the girls thought me a little when we got home and it's hard work, but it could be fun just to try it for a couple of months.

Circus girl

Hey, I've been forgetting all about my built in web cam since I got my new camera, and I just opend it up now by accident, but then I had to take a couple of pics, can't resist myself ;)

I look like a circus on the move!
Wearing jeans from gap, top & ring from H&M, cardi from Benetton, blazer & silk scarf from second hand.

Gotta run, ciao!

The Proclaimers - 500 Miles

I had a happy moment thanks to the music at the gym this morning. Fitness First is good like that, a lot of good music, a good mix.

Poem of destiny

I was never one to care much about poetry, you know, back in school when you had to learn about it, or even later, when I could do it by free will. I bouhgt a few books, I admidt that much, but they never seemed quite right. But some time ago I learned about Billy Collins. I have now read a fair few of his poems, and i peculiarly like this one.

I Go Back To The House For A Book

I turn around on the gravel and go back to the house for a book, something to read at the doctor's office, and while I am inside, running the finger of inquisition along a shelf, another me that did not bother to go back to the house for a book heads out on his own, rolls down the driveway, and swings left toward town, a ghost in his ghost car, another knot in the string of time, a good three minutes ahead of me — a spacing that will now continue for the rest of my life.

Billy Collins

It reminds me of that movie, with Gwyneth Paltrow, "Sliding Doors", and that movie pretty much describes the way I think of destiny, and life.

Just another friday night...

You get the picture... Off to Worthing tomorrow. Suppose to be good shopping. I'll bring the cam and tell you all about it later. Ciao

I'm such a nerd

When I see something like this my herat beats a little bit faster, I fall in love a little and I feel myself gravitate towards the door.
Well inside things only gets better. This is only the back rooms. Floor to ceiling coverd in lovely lovely books. I finally picked three books to come home with me.
Ashtanga yoga, because I'm adicted to yoga and want to learn more.
Fools Die, because I promised a friend to keep an eye out (he will have to wait for it though, cause I couldn't resist a peek and now I'm intrigued)
And last but not least, Gigi, because I've wanted to read Colette for a long time but never quite got around to it.

On the top of my list

I think Triple J can be possibly the best radi station in the world. In Sweden P3 might stand a chance, but I haven't found anything even remoltey in the same class here in England. There must be something, right? I'm probably missing out. But, thank's to the world wide web, I can tune in to Australia, so I'm happy anyway (yes, I know, it's been a lot of aussie talk today, can't help but to love it)

Sweet Child O' Mine

Well, how bout some music to finish off the day? One of the mums on ballet today had this song as her ringtone. To me, this song is Malaysia, cheap booze buy the bucket (literally), a local band, and well, yea, a fun night (to remember, hrm?!)
