Anna Ternheim vs Broder Daniel

Back in highschool when I was sitting at my favourite café pretty much everyday studying (or at least with the intetion to do so) they had a CD they kept playing, and one of the songs were this one.

Obviously I love it. Her voice is magical. However, I never knew the song was actually a cover, and that the song was originally made by Broder Daniel, a band I now mostly for their music to the movie "Fucking Åmål"

I like Anna's version better, what do you think?

My favourite bedbug!

Every night when the kids go to bed I think about my friend Ullis.....why ist that, you might wonder, well, simply because they always go "night night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite", haha, Liz loves bedbugs ;)

Body Rockers - I like the way you move

Music. Don't you just love it!?! Today at the gym they played this one...

...it brings back loads of fun party memories from my time in Sydney. Especilly one night when I went out with completly random people I hardley knew at all and had an awesome time dancing the night away at Cargo & Bungalow 8.

Home sweet home

You know the other day I said I had come up with an idea, but I never told you what it was. Well, i'm going home to Sweden for a weekend in januari. So, party in Norrköping teh weekend 16-18/1 ;)

Once when I was going on a plane I was told to listen to this song. Ever since, everytime I'm on a plane going somewhere I think about this song, unfortenotley I no longer have it on my iPod. (Johanna & Lisa, if your reading, you might not want to see/listen to this ;))

Ett liv i exil

One of my favourite bolg's written by a Swedish guy living in Australia. When I started reading it he lived in Melbourne, since then he's gone from there to Sydney and is now in Brisbane.

I started reading this blog way before I even had a thought about going to Australia myself. Now afterwords I wonder if maybe this blog was one of the reasons I wanted to go there in the first place?

When I started reading it, everything he wrote about seemed so very exotic. Then, when I was acually down under myself, I could relate to everything, and it was kind of cool, the realisation that what I had once thought exotic now was my everyday life too.

Now I read it and get nostalgic.

Anyway, he's not only a good writer but also a great photagrapher, and he just put up this pic. I love it (you'll see my coment there)

And as if that wasn't enough, he also got good taste in music:

I'm a joker...

Another day and another teacher, but the same song and the same result.

The highlight of todays workout however was this song:

Way back when I was in my early teens (oh, I feel so old now) there was an internet comunity very popular in Sweden called Lunarstorm. You didn't use your own name but had to come up with a nickname. So to get a nickname, I picked up one of my dad's CD's at random and, again, randomly picked a name of a song as my nickname. So, for the next few years, I was known as TheJoker.

The Killers - Mr Brightside Live Glastonbury

Well, I woke up at 7 am by the firealarm. Or something. Something loud. And the blue sky from yester day is gone and replaced with grey grey grey, and wet, and windy. Great.

So, my plans for today? Sunday lunch at 1. So now the question is, back to bed til then or off to the gym for Body Pump & Spinning?

Got some more energy after listening to this 5 times in a row, so off to the gym I go. How did this song end up as the one I always come back to, year after year, if I feel a litttle low, and how is it possible for a such non-happy song to have such an uplifting inpact?

I don't know, but it works every time.

Got to love it even more!

Well, becuase it is one of the best songs in the entire world, and I can't get enough of it, and the video is so, cute, i have to put up the original as well...

Got to love it!

I've just started reading a new blog. Well, the blog isn't really new, but it's new to me, and I like it, very much, even more so today, when she listed her three favourite covers by "normal people", and this song was one of them. I think Meghan does a good job. Instant moodboost!

Fell in love with an alien

I came across this song a few years back, think I was still in high school, and I did what I do, put it on repeat, and then I haven't heard it, pretty much since that time, and now from nowhere I just felt like I really wanted to listen to it. Why? I don't know. But I still like it.

Another She

Yesteday I put up a song called "She" by Sugarplum Fairy, and it reminded me that there is another song, also called "She", that's really good, by Green Day. So here we go.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton is going to use Madonna as their new face in an upcoming adcampaing. I don't know, but I don't really think she feels very Louis Vuitton?!
Some time ago LV did a campaing shot by my favourite photographer Annie Leibovitz, starring Keith Richards, father & daughter Coppola & Sean Connery among others. I love all of them, the settings, everything. Beautiful!

Sugarplum Fairy - She

Another song from that time, instant happiness & energy! Love love love.

Deportees - MIssing you, Missing me!

From gorgeous gowns to great music.

This song gives me a feeling of good expectations. It was on the radio quite a lot during the time leading up to the Malaysia/Australia trip when I worked with Sofia & Rebecca. The job in itself was far from great, but the knowledge about the trip coming up made it all worth it.

I remember the conversation during a coffeebreak one day:

B: It's just two more months til we're going!!
S: (thinking hard) but, isn't it three months?
B: Well, yea, but the last one will go sa fast!

Sweet memories :)

Eric Prydz - Call on me

They just played this one on the radio and I can't get enough so I'll play it here again. Love this song, brings back many good party memories from the high school time!

Say what?

Oh, I'm disappointed, only three people showed up for the spinning class, and the gym wont do it unless there's at least five. I was so motivated. Instead I ended up on a cross trainer for 45 minutes & then did a real good stretch session for half an hour.

Now I'm home for a quick lunch before I'm off with the kids for their swimming lessons (don't worry, I wont pose in a bikini, I have my limits, belive it or not)

In Sweden the place where you go swimming is called "badhus" literally "bath house". Here they call it a lesiure center. It's the same thing but it just sound so much more luxurious.

And speaking of calling things by different names, here it's not dinner or supper, it's tea. I say pants for all sorts of pants, here pants are the same as knickers or undies and if you mean anything else you say trousers. There have been some missunderstandings.

Now, some music for you to enjoy. I like.

Telling Stories

Okey, last post for the day, comming right up.

Just got a comment from Anna who's studying psychology. She read the following in a book and said she thought about me when she did so.

"Among the people you know, somone probably fits the following description: is talkative and outgoing, likes meeting new people and going new places, is active, is sometimes impulsive and venturesome, gets bored easily, and hates routine and monotony"

Haha, sounds pretty spot on!

Now I'm gonna do my bedtime yoga routine. I have just started to do about 20 minutes of energizing yoga first thing in the morning and 20 minutes of relaxing yoga just before I go bed.

But first I just have to listen to this song one more time, just one more...

For Kim

Tracy Chapman - Talkin bout a revolution

Allright. I just have to say, Tracy Chapman is one of my alltime favourite artists. Her CD was constantly on repeat when I lived down under (especially during the Bowral time). My favourite songs are this one, fast car & telling stories. She's just amazing in so many ways. And I am so jelaous of Micka who's gonna go to Norway and see her.

MGMT - Kids

Well, you can't have everything you wish for all the time I suppose. So, instead of a sun be I'll take the spinning bike, and instead of a real tan I'll try to get a fake one. And Bob Mareley have to give in for something with a little bit more energy.

TV Rock - Flaunt it

Not much blogging today. I've been out and about. Started at the gym at 9am for some Body Pump followed by a spinning class.

After that I we went to Brighton. A real summer holiday city down on the southcoast just about an hour away from Bognor.

We had great lunch & after that we went to look at the Royal Pavillion. I'll tell you more and put up some pics tomorrow.

Now I'll just leave you with the best BP bicep track ever. It's great, I love it!

Flashback

Like I said I should I've been watching Gossip Girl all night. In the end of the last episode I saw they played this song, and it just gave me a major flashback from McDonalds in Kuala Lumpur.

The rain was pouring down and me and Ullis had to wait for the night bus up to Langkawi, so we were just sitting there, passing the time, playing cards. At a table nex to us was a group of teenagers and one of them had a mobile with this song on it, and he just kept playing it, just the chorus, over and over and over.

All about Audrey

Yesterday I wrote about Breakfast at Tiffany's. One of the reasons I like it so much is, of course, Audrey Hepburn. I think she's a great actress and I love her movies, especially A Roman Holiday & Sabrina. They had a speciall classics section at Blockbusters so during the winter in Sydney it was a typical sunday thing to go down there and get a load of old movies.

The fashion spot did a thing on her called "Audrey Hepburn's enduring appeal", then there is the movie "The Audrey Hepburn Story" staring Jennifer Love Hewitt as Audrey, which is a story about her life. I've seen it many years ago but would love to see it again.

When she retired from being an actress she wen't on to work with UNICEF.

She just seems like such a great person, and she was so stylish and beautiful.

Found this on youtube. Love the song to.
