2008 - the year that's been

2008. It's been a good year, a great, fabolous, exciting yaer. Probably one of my favourite years so far.

I've visited new places I always wanted to go and I've come back to places I allready love. It's been a year where I've made a lot of new friends and had reunions with loved ones.

I've seen the fireworks in Sydney, danced my 21st away in a backpacker bar on Georgestreet, I've deliverd eggs in the southern highlands, I've been drinving to Melbourne for shopping, festivals, drinking & dancing, I've been stuck in the rain in KL, gone on a boat on the river in the oldest jungel in Malysia, I've seen tea plantations and I've been drinking buckets of malibu & pineapple on the beach, i've been snorkling and seen the reggae band on Koh Lipe, met an old schoolfriend, been sick and had a tattoo on Koh Lanta, I've lived for almost two months on Langkawi, spending the days on the beach, going for trips to waterfalls and islands and drinking beer and dancing and camping and... and then there was Sweden, and the best frinds and family in the world, I've worked at the same place I started working when I was fourteen, I've had one of the best summers of my life, thanks to the people around me. Then I've been shopping and drinking red wine in Paris, I've tried to get a job and apartment in Oslo, I've been back to Sweden, I've even planned a longterm stay in Sweden, just to give it up, pack my bags and go off to the UK, where I've gotten to know a lovely family, celebrated swedish and english christmas, started going to the gym, had my first car, gone shopping in London, Brighton and Chichester, and this is where I will begin the year 2009.
I've been busy, and now it's time to start thinking about next year, so much to see, so much to do...

MGMT - Time to Pretend

I'm still stuck on this song, however today I did find a video, not the original, but I actually like this one better anyway...

Smile for the camera

The lovely lady in black turned out to be Géraldine Saglio, assistant to Emmanuelle Alt on french Vogue.

Barbara heart Balmain (and I heart Barbara)

Barabara Martelo is a Stylist on Vogue in Spain (at least I think she is, I'm not a 100% sure though) and I reckon she's got great style. During fashion week in Paris she kept wearing her Balmain fringe boots to different outfits. If they were a part of my wardrobe, I'm pretty sure I would've done the same!(pitures from JAK&JIL)

Summer of 69

I did go for the leo outfit in the end. I think it was a good choise, I got compliments for it. Anyway, the party was nothing like thought it would be. It wasn't actually a party hosted by the person I was invited by, but by his brother, who celebrated his 17th birthday! And so, the people attanding the party was in that agegroup aswell, with the exeption of the older siblings and some of their friends. So we were divided in two groups, the "real" party (their evening had it's culmination around 8:30 I would say) and the "grown-ups". It was fun though, I had an excellent time, great fun people that I hope I will see a lot more of in the future!

The highlight of my night might have been when this song came on the karekoe(no, I didn't sing, two guys from the "real party crew" had the microphones, thank god)

Dreams of snow

All the Christmas decorations are up, two trees, an open fire place, Christmas songs. But there is still something missing. Snow! You know, I remember the last time I saw snow, it was a tuesday, 23rd of january, 2007. We were driving to Arlanda ariport, just about to start the trip of a lifetime. I remember thinking how beautiful it was, loads of snow and bright sunshine.Since it's 11 degrees in Bognor today I've sort of given up on a white Cristmas, instead I'm crossing my fingers for snow in Sweden in januari. And if that fails, at least I'm guaranteed some when we go skiing in february.

Scotty doesn't know

I think it's time to watch Eurotrip again, such a funny movie.

Kate Moss + Emmanuelle Alt = very cool!

Look what I found! Kate Moss styled by Emmanuelle Alt for French Vogue in April this year (I didn't exactly read fashaion mags back in april, I was to busy sipping beer on the beach in Malaysia) I love this, this is cool!

Do you remember the summer of 2001?!

Nostalgia.

All American Rejects - Change Your Mind

And looking at all those old photos from way back then reminded me about this song, I used to play it quite a lot while working at F&B.

Who would've thought.

I never watched "The X Files", so the only time I've seen David Duchovny's acting before is in "Sex and the City" where he played Carrie's old high school boyfriend (and well, obviously I've seen the teacup picture!)
Now, I see him as Hank, and I think I can officially say that I am addicted. To Californication, that is. Who would've thought.

Yummie

White chocolate and cranberry cookies. My new obsession. When you go to the gym six days a week you can treat youreslf every now and again, and these are worth all the sweat, belive me :)

Extraordinary

It's funny how sometimes you get reminded of the same experience from different sources independent from eachother in a short time.

Yesterday I logged on to Coach Surfing (pretty much for the first time since I became a member in february, great site though) and I read my own profile, and one of the things they ask you to describe is "One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done" and I wrote "I was in a boat going to Perenthian Island, Malaysia, and we left in the sunrise. The sea was purple, it was extraordinary!"

Then today I'm looking at some pictures on facebook and I come across this one, taken on that very boatride...
Extraordinary indeed!

Song of the day

I once won a bet concerning the lyrics of this song. I think the bet was more about honour than anything else, haha, this was a fair few years back now, but it's a good song though, I like it, still.

Bob Dylan - If You See Her, Say Hello

Music from Californication. Getting sucked into that show...

David Grey - This Years Love

Wish I had the album, I did buy it after all, oh well, they are still looking for the bags (I spoke to them two times this week) so soon, maybe...

Fly away with me

I absolutley love this picture. It makes me feel calm, thanks to the softnes of the colours, but the plane leaves me excited and curious, someone is on their way, going somewhere. It's the kind of picture I could hang over my bed and be happy to see first thing in the morning and last thing at night. (image from Jonas, click on it to enlarge)

Surf's up

Talking about surfing, if you haven't seen this movie, do, it's way funny, I'm in love with Chicken Joe!
